1. |
What?? |
We are a contemporary music school. That's nice isn't it... So, what does that mean? Well, it means that we're different. Yes, we do like to be special. We're going to give you a unique brand of music education. By meeting you where you are, School of Groove provides music education that is relevant to the music of NOW. Some students want to learn music through classical technique, and we love them for it. Others want to learn it through the music of Led Zeppelin, and we couldn't be more excited at the differences! Study is available in rock, jazz, pop, hip-hop, classical, Latin, gospel, and world music. We offer individual private instruction, as well as bands/ensembles and classes. Our mission is to provide students with an environment that is conducive towards exploration. |

2. |
Am I to old to learn? |
NO!! Is Steven Tyler to old to be playing music? Well...maybe you shouldn't answer that question. Learning should never be limited, so if you are an adult who wants to continue music studies, or would like to learn music for the very first time we would be thrilled to help you perpetuate this life-long journey. Our highly trained faculty is experienced in teaching adults as well as young students. Currently, our students range in age from 3-65 years old! |

I want to play in a band, do you offer this?
Unlike other music schools, School of Groove stands apart as a performance based music school. Performances at School of Groove aren't your run-of-the-mill student recitals, waiting through throngs of other students, but professionally run stage shows with lighting, stagecraft, and smoke machines (if applicable). Performances take place not only at School of Groove, but at real venues, like concert halls, rock clubs, and theatres. We are in the business of preparing students to play music, and it is our belief that the only way to do that is by giving students real opportunities to perform in front of real audiences at real venues. |

4. |
I've never played an instrument before, can I still join?
ABSOLUTELY! We place a heavy emphasis on exploration at School of Groove. If a student explores, they will learn. Thus, we accept students of all experience levels. Beginners participate in classes and shows along with more advanced students. |

5. |
Is it to late to join for this semester?
Please join us at any time! We operate with an open admission process for each semester (spring, summer, fall). |

6. |
I just started playing, can I be in a band?
