School of Groove is a new contemporary music school offering private instruction, band rehearsals, and classes to students of all ages, instruments, and stylistic preferences.

Unlike other music schools, School of Groove stands apart as a performance based music school. Performances at School of Groove aren't your run-of-the-mill student recitals, waiting through throngs of other students, but professionally run stage shows with lighting, stagecraft, and smoke machines (if applicable). Performances take place not only at School of Groove, but at real venues, like concert halls, rock clubs, and theatres. We are in the business of preparing students to play music, and the only way to do that is by giving students real opportunities to perform in front of real audiences at real venues.

 Entering our facility at 883 Cambridge St. Cambridge, visitors to School of Groove will immediately notice one of our most unique features: kids and adults learning beside one another. Though we are a music school, we realize that our greatest responsibility is in building a community. It comes in helping to strengthen families, or allowing for new friendships to blossom. We are excited to offer a family package in which each member of the family learns an instrument and has the opportunity to perform together.

At School of Groove, it is our belief that a student’s passions are best assessed by the student, and not by the institution. Therefore, School of Groove is committed to providing students with tools and opportunities they need to develop into informed, innovative, and passionate musicians.

Students at School of Groove may study Rock, Pop, Jazz, Classical, Latin, Hip-Hop, R&B, Funk, and Gospel with a qualified faculty of 16 musicians who are active in the professional performance and music education sector. Contact us for more information about any of our courses of study.
