This 10-week course consists of a study of major styles and the
writers, producers, and artists who shaped the music. This class
will provide students with a fundamental knowledge of individual
musical styles. Students learn about identifiable stylistic
components and basic historical trends through the use of audio
recordings, video, and hands-on activities. Students will engage in
compositional and performance related activities.
NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED!
We encourage students to participate in this class for the
following reasons among others:
-Really LEARN about music for the first time
-Learn more about your favorite artists and musical styles
-Learn the FACTS behind the music you love to play
-HAVE FUN!!
This class is open to students of ALL ages and ALL musical
abilities (we currently have students from age 8-80 years old who
are enrolled in this class!). Our goal is to give you the skills to
perpetuate a life of enjoyment in music.
Course Fee: $200 (Includes 10 weekly classes, instructional
materials, and equipment)
