Chen Lin, violist, is currently studying at The
Boston Conservatory as a full scholarship student, pursuing a
Master’s degree in music performance in viola. Born in Taiwan, Chen
Lin began studying viola at the age of eleven. She attended Taipei
Municipal University of Education (previous Taipei Municipal
Teachers College), graduating with a degree in Education, with the
honor of Second Prize of the music department. Miss Lin has appeared as a solo artist during
her university years. She won the First Prize in Taipei Music
Competition in 2003 and the Fourth Prize in Taiwan Music
Competition in 2004. She also won the Second Prize three times in
Taipei Municipal University of Education Concerto Competition. In
2003 and 2004, she was the principal viola in the Orchestra of
Taipei Municipal University of Education. In 2006, she was selected
by ASTA state competition to advance the semifinal round of
National Solo Competition. Besides solo works, Miss Lin is also
active in chamber music playing, and she has performed in several
chamber music concerts. Her previous teachers include Lee-Weng Wang
and Teizo Yoshinaga. She is now working with Roger Tapping. |
